Optional Instruction: Additional $350.00

Drawing Landscape   

Class will meet for 7 days from 9am-12pm

For the intermediate and novice, this class will suggest ways of observing the local landscape.
Mediums from pencil, oil pastel, and mono-printing will be used.

Supply lists are available upon registration.

Douro River Wine and Port Tasting Tour 

w/ Nomad Steps Tours  (https://www.nomadsteps.eu/)

During the 2023 season, we hired Timur of Nomad Steps to drive our group through the Douro River valley on a wine-tasting, regional lunch, and Port tasting day. We reserved a tour for the 2024 group as it was so successful. 

 

The day begins right after breakfast, first stopping in Lamego to see the blue and white tiled, stone stairway from the town center to a pretty Sé on the hill above, and then having a cafe in the town square. Lunch in the town of Regua, across the Douro, is delicious. Afterward, the Quinta do Seixo-Sandman’s Port Winery, situated on the hills above the river, offers incredible views of the historic area and a wonderful tasting plus education on the many varieties of Port.

 

This all-day trip discovering small and well-known winemakers in the world-famous Unesco region was a lovely way to see and taste what northern Portugal offers. We travel in a comfortable air-conditioned van with Timur’s excellent regional connections.
