Drawing Landscape   

Class will meet for 7 days from 9 am-12 pm.

For intermediate and novice students, this class will offer ways to observe the local landscape.
Basic supplies: pencil, charcoal, oil pastel, and mono-printing are available and will be explored throughout the individualized lessons. 

Suggested supply lists and a recommended equipment slideshow are available upon registration.

Optional: Douro River Wine and Port Tasting Tour with Nomad Steps Tours  (https://www.nomadsteps.eu/)

During the 2023 season, we hired Timur from Nomad Steps to lead our group through the Douro River valley for a wine tasting, a regional lunch, and a Port tasting day. ​

The first stop is Lamego, to see the blue-and-white-tiled stairway running from the town center up to a pretty Sé on the hill above, and then have a café in the town square. Lunch in the town of Regua, across the Douro, is delicious. Afterward, the Quinta do Seixo-Sandman’s Port Winery, situated on the hills above the river, offers incredible views of the historic area and a wonderful tasting session and education on the wide variety of Ports. This all-day trip, which includes visits to small and well-known winemakers in the UNESCO-protected region, is a lovely way to see and taste what northern Portugal has to offer. We travel in a comfortable, air-conditioned van and enjoy Timur's knowledge of the area.
