Drawing Landscape   

Class will meet for 7 days from 9 am-12 pm

For the intermediate and novice, this class will offer ways to observe the local landscape.
Media: pencil, oil pastel, and mono-printing are available

Douro River Wine and Port Tasting Tour 

w/ Nomad Steps Tours  (https://www.nomadsteps.eu/)​

During the 2023 season, we hired Timur of Nomad Steps to drive our group through the Douro River valley on a wine-tasting, regional lunch, and Port tasting day. We reserved a tour for this year.

​

The day begins right after breakfast, first stopping in Lamego to see the blue-and-white-tiled stone stairway from the town center to a pretty Sé on the hill above, and then having a cafe in the town square. Lunch in the town of Regua, across the Douro, is delicious. Afterward, the Quinta do Seixo-Sandman’s Port Winery, situated on the hills above the river, offers incredible views of the historic area and a wonderful tasting plus education on the wide varieties of Port.

 

This all-day trip, discovering small and well-known winemakers in the world-famous UNESCO region, was a lovely way to see and taste what northern Portugal has to offer. We travel in a comfortable, air-conditioned van, thanks to Timur’s excellent regional connections.
